HOW TO MAKE YOUR WEDDING CHARITABLE

Weddings are big, beautiful events where all your friends and family come together to see you and your groom exchange vows and begin a fresh life together. Unfortunately, sometimes the wedding details can go to waste, and are not used past the big day, despite still being good. For the brides who are always thinking of others, that’s not necessarily how you want your wedding to be. We have a few tips on how to make your wedding charitable, so you can have your big day, and help others.

1. Use puppies as bouquets.

We know, this one may really be a struggle for you. But in the off chance that you love puppies, gather up a few adorable little guys and girls for you and your bridesmaids to carry down the aisle from the local animal shelter. Make sure to put a sign or a note in the programs that your bouquet is up for adoption, and help these little pups find a new home, while having a wedding that everyone is sure to remember.

2. Donate Your Flowers After the Wedding

A great way to pass along some of the joy of your big day is to donate your flowers. Nursery homes or hospitals are wonderful places that are always in need of a little extra cheer. You can easily give that by taking all of the flowers used for centerpieces and decorating, and donating them the next day or that evening. Everyone enjoys getting beautiful flower arrangements, and paying it forward has never been easier.

3. Donate Your Bridesmaid Dresses

If you’ve opted to take care of paying for the bridesmaid dresses for your ladies, then make sure that the dresses don’t just get tossed in the back of a closet for years to come. There are several organizations out there that accept donations of formal and semi-formal dresses to give to girls of lower-income families for prom and other dances. You and your friends had a wonderful time at your wedding, share the love and pass along a dress to help a girl have a wonderful prom.

4. Donate the Leftover Food

Weddings are big about having a lot of food, and sometimes, there’s plenty of leftovers after the fact. Instead of letting those go to waste, pick a local shelter, and take the food in. It’s a great way to ensure that nothing goes to waste, and that those who are hungry are able to get a good meal.

There are so many ways to make your wedding charitable, all without you having to do anything extra besides a short drive somewhere. Everything needs to be cleaned up anyway, and instead of just allowing things to be thrown away, give them to someone who will really appreciate it.
