BRIDAL SHOWER TRENDS

If you have been given the honor of Maid or Matron of Honor, then you are most likely tasked with planning the bridal shower. Bridal showers are beautiful events that offer the bridesmaids a chance to spoil the future bride and shower her with love and support for her upcoming nuptials. While the general idea behind the showers are all the same, there are certain bridal shower trends that are becoming increasingly popular and can give you a good idea of where to start.

Take It Down A Notch

More and more often we are seeing bridal showers become more intimate, and have smaller guest lists. The lists are more the bridesmaids and close family and friends, rather than a larger affair. This is a great option for a variety of reasons. First, you can have a lot more variety in the venue. With a smaller event, you could reserve an afternoon art class or you can make reservations for a tea party with a classy backdrop at a garden or museum. Or take the girls out for an elegant brunch filled with mimosas and good times. The smaller invitation list allows for a more romantic setting.

Interact With Friends and Family

More and more couples are interacting together with their friends and family in lieu of the traditional bridal games. Reserve a cooking class or take everyone to a winery for a wine tour and tasting. Or, create a flower arrangement that the guests are able to take home as a tangible memory of the shower. This is a great way to get people talking and getting to know each other before the full wedding festivities begin. With so many different classes available, there is something that can appeal to any type of couple.

Bring the Groom and Groomsmen

As weddings and traditions have evolved, so do bridal showers. No longer are they just for the bride, but instead, they are a great way for both the bride and groom to gather their family members to celebrate the upcoming nuptials. This also places less emphasis on the traditional bridal shower games and allows for a more casual environment that is more focused on enjoying time together and getting to know all members of the family and bridal party.

Whether you choose to go with a traditional shower held with an afternoon tea or you choose to take everyone to a Go-Kart track, the purpose of the shower is to celebrate the happy couple. Make sure it’s something the couple enjoys, and it will be a beautiful event with lasting memories.
