WEDDING MAKEUP TIPS

When your big day arrives, you want everything to be perfect. From the gown to your makeup, you want to not only look beautiful, but feel beautiful, and celebrate one of the happiest days of your life looking flawless all day long. We offer some wedding makeup tips to keep you flawless from before your walk down the aisle all the way to the getaway.

1. Have a touchup kit.

We can’t stress this one enough. Whether you do your makeup yourself or have a professional do it, it’s so important for you to have a touchup kit on hand. Depending on how long your ceremony and reception is, and what the weather is like, you want to make sure you have some essentials to keep your makeup looking perfect. Lip gloss, mascara, some blush, and some powder are musts, they can help keep any makeup issue at bay.

2. Use a setting spray

Setting sprays are made for a reason, and they keep your makeup flawless, despite heat and humidity or rain. Some can be sprayed on before and after, while others are sprayed after it is applied, and help to keep your makeup where it should be throughout the festivities.

3. Take your time

Don’t rush through your beauty routine. Rushing can cause you to skip steps or mess up a line, so plan for plenty of time for you to relax and enjoy being pampered. This is your time, so enjoy it, whether someone is doing your makeup for you or you are going the DIY route.

4. Don’t do a skin treatment

This one is a must. Do not try a skin treatment right before your wedding day. Between the stress, and other things, if your skin has a reaction of some sort, it will completely devastate you on your big day, and may require more work to cover it up. Just stick with your traditional skincare routine for a couple of weeks leading up to it, and on your big day. That’s the safest plan to ensure nothing pops up unexpectedly.

5. Have Advil liquid gels

Last minute pimples are sadly a part of life, but no one wants a breakout on their wedding day. Take a pin, poke it in the liquid gel, and apply it to your pimple, brides swear that this helps clear the breakout almost instantly, giving you the flawless complexion you want on your big day.

Even with our wedding makeup tips, be prepared for the unexpected to happen. The first rule of events is to know that things go wrong and to give yourself extra time. You never want to make your guests sit for an extra hour while you’re doing last minute prep, and despite fears, odds are you will not be sitting around waiting for the ceremony to begin.
